I first spoke to Tom in January, he was patient and helpful. I then ordered one of his new amps a month ago. My impressions are as follows:
This amplifier should be compared to amps costing two to three times as much. The pictures on the website do not do it justice. It is built like a tank!
I have three different amps, a tube amp, a class A amp and now this class D.
The SDS-470 has amazing imaging, bass slam and does not suffer from the midrange problem that so many class D amplifiers do. In fact if I had to compare it I would say it has the slam of the class A, with the sweetness of tube amplification.
I have no idea what secret recipe Tom is using in his amps. I can tell you one thing though....I am still looking for the tubes in it..so far have not found one! Immensely satisfied! Purchase one now, before he raises the price! (Posted on 4/20/12)
